To compare cleanser prices, divide the price in rupees by the stated volume in millilitres. This tells you the cost per ml. It does not tell you which cleanser suits your skin, how long your bottle will last or which formula produces better results.
Below is a worked comparison using two products we sell in Pakistan. The arithmetic is reproducible, the price snapshot is dated, and the limits are explicit. You can use the same method for another pair without relying on a “best value” badge.
A real comparison from the Floreva catalog
On 28 September 2026, the store listed Vitamin C Facewash at Rs.1,499 for 100 ml and Ceramide Petal Face Wash at Rs.2,499 for 100 ml. We make and sell both products; this is a price calculation, not an independent product test.
| Product | Price and volume on that date | Calculated price per ml |
|---|---|---|
| Vitamin C Facewash | Rs.1,499 / 100 ml | Rs.14.99 |
| Ceramide Petal Face Wash | Rs.2,499 / 100 ml | Rs.24.99 |
The difference was Rs.1,000 per bottle, or Rs.10 per ml. At those prices, the Ceramide wash cost about 66.7% more per ml: divide the Rs.1,000 difference by Rs.1,499, then multiply by 100. That calculation says nothing about whether the difference is worthwhile for a particular buyer.
Prices can change. The current store prices are Rs.1,499 for Vitamin C Facewash and Rs.2,499 for Ceramide Petal Face Wash. If these differ from the dated table, use the current price to recalculate. The table remains a historical worked example.
Why bottle price can mislead
A cheaper bottle may contain less product. For example, consider two hypothetical cleansers: 50 ml for Rs.900 and 100 ml for Rs.1,500. The first costs Rs.18 per ml; the second costs Rs.15 per ml. The smaller bottle needs less money upfront, while the larger one costs less per unit.
Both facts can matter. Someone trying a new formula may prefer a smaller initial purchase, even when its unit cost is higher. Someone who already uses a product may care more about replacement cost. There is no need to treat either choice as mathematically irrational.
Only compare matching units. If one pack is labelled in grams and the other in millilitres, do not assume they are equivalent. You would need reliable density information to convert between them. Use the manufacturer’s stated quantity instead of estimating from the container’s height.
Add delivery before deciding what is cheaper
The product price is not always the amount you pay. For a single-item order, calculate:
Delivered cost per ml = (item price + applicable delivery charge − applicable discount) ÷ pack volume.
Use the actual checkout amounts and check the shipping policy. If you are ordering several items, comparing the complete basket is usually clearer than pretending the entire delivery fee belongs to one cleanser.
Do not add an unwanted product solely to reach a shipping threshold without doing the arithmetic. Saving a delivery charge can still leave you spending more overall. A basket that costs more is not cheaper just because one line says free delivery.
Why we are not promising a cost per day
A daily-cost estimate needs a reliable usage amount. How much you dispense, how often you wash and whether more than one person uses the bottle can change its life. We did not measure those variables for this comparison, so we are not converting a 100 ml bottle into a guaranteed number of days.
If you want your own replacement-cost estimate, record when you open and finish a bottle during normal use. Treat one bottle as an observation, not a precise forecast for everyone. Do not reduce the amount required by a product’s directions to make a cost estimate look better.
Use price as one column in the decision
Alongside cost, compare the ingredient list, your experience with the product and what you need from a cleanser. The face-wash buying guide covers that broader choice. Our Ceramide review explains the limits of its small customer-feedback sample.
Does the lower price per ml win? It wins that calculation only. A formula you will not use is poor value at any unit price. Calculate accurately, then make the product decision with the other information in view.
